Our Trip to "Lake of the Woods"
James and I were invited to go on a trip with my Mom and Step-Dad to a place in Pinetop, Az. called "Lake of the Woods" this past week, we left Monday morning and came back Thursday afternoon. We stayed in a cabin up there right by the lake, it was the most breath taking place you'll ever see. Everywhere you looked was filled with beauty and you couldn't help but think of the wonderful blessing it was to even be there. How miraculous our father in Heaven is, how intelligent he is, the creations he made and how they work, like the birds that sored across the sky above us, just amazing! When I was a little girl I loved to fish, never caught anything until I was about 12 and it was only about 2' big and had to be thrown back, I was devastated. Since then I've still been unable to catch a fish, but this week was different.....(smiling) I had a blast catching fish, left and right I was reeling them in....LOL not really but it felt like it, I was screaming and hoping all around, and all the cabins around the lake watched me too. I ended catching one catfish and 5 good size trout. We cleaned them and cooked them on the grill for dinner that night. My Step Dad, I hate that word (Step) what does that mean anyway, My Dad calls me the "Fisher Woman" now...LOL we had a great time and make such a wonderful team. When I wasn't catching them, he was and I would grab the fish as it would come in and pull the hook out of the mouth, over and over. Then at night we would all sit by the fireplace and talk about whatever. James and I are so blessed to have such wonderful parents who I know we grew even closer to this weekend. God Bless the both of them! Thank you Mom & Dad
Trip to Lake Pleasent on Easter Sunday
My family and I went out to the Lake early Easter Sunday, it was quite windy and chilly, which was a nice break from the warmth days we have been having. The kids went fishing and walked around. We had sub sandwiches and all kinds of goodies like potato salad, Cole slaw and candy....LOL it was really fun and we were determined not to let the wind take away our fun. All the pictures we have our hair is blowing everywhere, kinda funny! We really wanted to spend some quality quiet time together since they will not be here next year for Easter. I so miss when they were little and I got to do all that fun stuff with them. I tried to bring eggs along on the trip and put candy in them to hide them, but.........they decided they were to grown up, can't blame me for trying anyhow! We got home around 3pm in the afternoon and took a nap. Watched a few movies, "The Crucifixion" and "Final Inquiry" both religious movies about the Resurrection of our saviour Jesus Christ. We read some scripture then all went to bed, it was a wonderful day.
